Quick Overview
This DIYables set pairs an ESP32S ESP-WROOM-32 development board with a matching screw terminal expansion board. The dev board is the 38 pin version built around the dual-core ESP32 microcontroller, with integrated 2.4GHz WiFi and Bluetooth, a USB Type-C connector, and a CP2102 USB-to-serial chip for stable programming and serial monitoring from the Arduino IDE.
The expansion board takes the fragility out of jumper wiring. The dev board plugs straight into the female headers in the centre, and every pin is routed outward to a screw terminal with its name printed on the PCB beside it. Wires are held by a screw rather than friction, so connections survive movement and vibration instead of falling out of a breadboard. Both terminal rows sit along the long edges of the board, and four corner mounting holes let the whole assembly be fixed inside an enclosure or onto a panel.
Ideal for permanent installations, home automation controllers, sensor nodes, robotics, and any ESP32 project that has outgrown the breadboard stage but still needs the board to be removable. Because the dev board is socketed rather than soldered, it can be pulled out and reused at any time. Compatible with Arduino IDE, MicroPython, and ESP-IDF.
Key Features
- Matched Board and Adapter Set — The 38 pin ESP32 board and the terminal expansion board are designed for each other and fit together out of the box
- ESP32 Dual-Core with WiFi and Bluetooth — ESP-WROOM-32 module provides 2.4GHz WiFi and Bluetooth for wireless and IoT projects
- USB Type-C with CP2102 — Modern reversible connector and a CP2102 USB-to-serial chip for reliable flashing and serial monitoring
- Every Pin on a Screw Terminal — All GPIO, power, and ground pins are broken out to screw terminals for secure, solderless wiring
- Silkscreened Pin Names — Each terminal has its pin name printed alongside it on the PCB for fast, error-free wiring
- Socketed, Not Soldered — The dev board plugs into female headers and can be removed and reused in another project at any time
- Vibration Resistant Connections — Screw-down terminals hold wires firmly, unlike breadboard or DuPont connections
- Corner Mounting Holes — Four holes allow the assembly to be fixed inside an enclosure or onto a panel
- RST and BOOT Buttons — Onboard buttons for resetting and entering download mode remain accessible when mounted
- Arduino IDE, MicroPython and ESP-IDF — Full support across all three development environments
