The DIYables TM1637 4 Digit 7 Segment Display Module puts a bright red numeric readout on your project without eating up your board pins. Each of the four 0.56 inch digits is driven by the onboard TM1637 controller, so the whole display needs only two signal lines, CLK for the clock signal and DIO for data, alongside VCC and GND. That leaves the rest of your GPIO free for sensors, buttons, and everything else in the build.
A colon segment sits between the second and third digits and is under software control, which makes hh:mm and mm:ss formats straightforward for clocks, timers, and stopwatches. Brightness is adjustable across 8 gray scale levels, so the same module stays readable on a workbench and dims down for a bedside clock. The control interface runs at 5V and the four pin header is ready for jumper wires, so there is no soldering or complicated wiring to work through.
