Carbon dioxide is one of the clearest indicators of indoor air quality, and levels that climb through a closed room take a measurable toll on concentration and comfort. The DIYables SCD40 CO2 Sensor Module puts Sensirion's next generation miniature CO2 sensor on a small breakout board so you can track that number directly from your own project. Across the specified 400 to 2000 ppm range the sensor holds a reference accuracy of 40 ppm plus 5 percent of the reading, enough resolution to watch a room fill up and clear out again.
Built-in temperature and humidity sensors compensate the CO2 measurement on chip, and they also return ambient temperature and relative humidity from the same four pin connection. That connection is a plain digital I2C bus on a 2.54mm header carrying GND, VDD, SCL, and SDA, with the pins already soldered so the module goes straight onto a breadboard or into a set of jumper wires. A wide 2.4V to 5.5V supply range covers both 3.3V and 5V boards, and average current stays under 0.4mA at 5V when taking one measurement every 5 minutes, low enough for battery powered and solar builds.
